After a mellow Saturday watching the cross country racing at Cannock Chase, it was off to the tiny village of Kinsham in Herefordshire for round 5 of the Pearce Cycles Downhill Series.

The track has plenty to offer – jumps, drops, rooty sections, fast sections, jumps, drops, and more, and was a lot of fun to watch. Definitely another one I need to pay a visit to in the future – maybe not during racing, but on one of the Pearce Cycles uplift days. The track looks brilliant!

As always, my photos from the day are available to buy on Roots & Rain.

It was nice to see the local Racers Guild Squadron team out in force – pictured above is Matty Foster on his second race run, and on the header image, Lee Pettitt getting loose on one of the jumps!

The team did pretty well, with riders Joel Rhodes-Patterson, Mick Whyte, Lee Pettitt, Ben Lord, and Oliver Watson posting some respectable times near the top of their category leaderboards – and Nathan Foster smashing his way into second place and winning a week’s riding holiday in Spain – not bad!

Last but not least, one of my favourite images from the weekend – Will Weston on his 2nd race run. The bright green kit and decals really stand out from the dark moody forest.
